Serving Through Committees

Committees are one of the most meaningful ways members of our church family serve together. Each committee supports the life and mission of the church by caring for people, stewarding our resources, and creating welcoming, Christ-centered experiences.

Every committee is chaired by a Session member who provides leadership and guidance, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with church policies and guidelines. Committee members work together to share responsibilities, using their gifts and availability to serve where needed.

Below is an overview of our committees and the types of ministry each one supports. The responsibilities listed are examples, not an exhaustive list.

Cemetery Committee

This committee helps ensure our cemetery is cared for with dignity and respect.

Maintains burial plats and records
Marks plats for burials

Christian Education Committee

This committee supports lifelong learning and spiritual growth within the church.

Recruits teachers for Sunday School and evening programs
Orders curriculum and literature for classes
Organizes classes by age or grade level and provides classroom space

Youth & Children’s Committee

This committee nurtures the faith of our children and youth through programs and events.

Plans events for children, youth, and their families
Organizes Vacation Bible School
Coordinates church camp opportunities
Orders curriculum, materials, and supplies

Fellowship Committee

This committee helps create a welcoming and hospitable church environment.

Purchases supplies for church meals and gatherings
Assists with meal-related tasks as needs arise

History & Library Committee

This committee preserves the story and resources of our church.

Purchases and organizes books and materials
Maintains shelving and accessibility
Keeps yearbooks and scrapbooks

Maintenance Committee

This committee helps care for the church’s facilities and equipment.

Oversees upkeep of the church bus
Assists with plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
Maintains lighting and pest control needs

Missions Committee

This committee leads the church in serving the broader community.

Coordinates Thanksgiving meals
Organizes the Nativity Scene
Oversees Christmas basket outreach
Focuses on care, connection, and presence
